Introduction to the Collection

The oral history interview of Charles A. Collis is comprised of a digital recording and a transcript of the recording. The interview was conducted by Mary Donin on September 29, 2009. The entire interview runs for approximately 45 minutes and covers his undergraduate years at Dartmouth, his career and his support of Dartmouth, including the Collis Center and the Charles A. Collis Professorship of History.

Biography

Charles A. Collis, Dartmouth class of 1937, a successful entrepreneur in direct home sales, and founder of Princess House, and his wife Elfriede, have been benefactors of Dartmouth College since the 1970s.
