Introduction to the Collection

The oral history interview with Peter A. Gilbert is comprised of audiocassette and digital recordings and a transcript of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Mary Donin on September 10, 2008. The entire interview runs for approximately two and a half hours and covers his undergraduate years and his career at the college working primarily for President Freedman.

Biography

Peter A. Gilbert, Dartmouth class of 1976, was senior assistant to the president, James Freedman, from 1990 to 1998. He also served as an associate provost from 1996 until 2000.
