BiographyDavid Sices was born on June 10, 1933 in suburban New York. He attended Dartmouth as a member of the Class of '54 and graduated summa cum laude. He attended Yale University for his PhD and returned to Dartmouth in 1957 as a member of the romance languages department and chaired the department from 1970-77. He retired in 1997.
