Introduction to the Collection

The papers of Cornelia Meigs contain typescripts of her books and stories, including "A Critical History of Children's Literature," and her biography of Louisa May Alcott, "Invincible Louisa," as well as galley proofs, publishers correspondence and royalty statements. Family correspondence, photographs, and financial data, as well as class and course information related to her tenure at Bryn Mawr College, are also included. Of note is the small amount of material related to her training as a cryptographer during W.W.II.
