The Rudolph Ruzicka papers include professional and personal correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, financial records, booklets, inventory list of his personal library, his appointment calendars ranging from 1960-78, a collection of small hand chisels, metal molds, woodblocks, printing plates, a leaf from an illustrated Italian bible (1498), the layout and proof for "Fairfield" typeface, annotated manuscript on W.A. Dwiggens and assorted ephemera.
The correspondence includes letters to and from Andrew Wyeth, and many of Rusicka's contemporaries.
Rudolph Ruzicka (1883-1978). Graphic designer, font designer for Mergenthaler Linotype Company, illustrator, and book designer. Worked with the Merrymount Press (Boston) extensively and created the 'Fairfield' and 'Ruzicka' typefaces, among others.
Includes both typed and handwritten professional correspondence arranged alphabetically in folders; also loose personal and professional correspondence and cards. A framed print from Rudolph Ruzicka to Edward Connery Lathem; an original frontispieces for the Imprint Society's edition of the Poetry of Robert Frost (1971); 10 blank postcards of Prague; 1 magazine; booklets.

One includes a publication entitled "Print"; the second contains an unbound copy of the Harvard College Library Dept. of Printing and Graphic Arts Catalogue of Books and Manuscripts; the third contains assorted publications related to type and printing; the fourth through seventh scrapbooks contain pasted-in clippings and images of beasts, portraits, title pages, and birds used for study.

The Alphabetical files include numerous booklets; the will of Maria H.B. Dennette and related papers; friends works; several copies of the "Lynotype News"; a Rudolph Ruzicka school report card from 1897 and other papers.
