Abstract:

Thomas Eugene Kurtz, computer scientist and programmer. Born in 1928. Codeveloped BASIC programming language in 1963/64 for the Dartmouth College DTSS (Dartmouth Time Sharing System.) The papers consist of correspondence, project notes, memos, drafts, manuals, academic papers, class notes, curriculum, presentation notes, books, textbooks, IBM punch cards, punch tape with various programs as well as journals and periodicals relating to the creation of BASIC for the DTSS.
