Guide to the Papers of Sylvia Clark, 1865 - 1961Manuscript MS-1216

Introduction to the Collection

The papers of Sylvia Clark contain correspondence, primarily with her nephew Herbert Faulkner West, photographs, poetry manuscripts, drawings, and clippings. Many of the items document Clark's association with Robert Frost, first as a neighbor of the poet in Derry, New Hampshire, and later as a colleague while teaching at Pinkerton Academy. Also included are a few letters, manuscripts, and drawings of Sylvia Clark's mother Mary Latham Clark, her brother-in-law E.E. Pettee, and Margaret Clark.
