Introduction to the Collection

The Marion B. Atwood Collection of lottery tickets contains lottery tickets from a variety of places including Harvard College, Vermont, Louisiana and New Hampshire. A letter from the office of Fletcher & Co., general lottery agents, Covington, Kentucky, is also included.

Biography

Marion Bradley Atwood was born in 1886. She graduated from Miss Wheelock's Kindergarten Training School in 1909, and later studied landscape architecture at Harvard University. In 1910, she married Frederick E. Atwood who graduated from Dartmouth College in 1900. Mrs. Atwood was an avid gardener and a charter member of the Dartmouth Women's Club of Boston. She died in 1984 at the age of 97.
