Abstract:

Charles G. Billo, Civil Servant. The collection contains correspondence, photographs, award certificates and Selective Service documents chronicling Billos' appointment to the US Foreign Service and his service in Vietnam.

The materials represented in this guide may be accessed through the Rauner Special Collections Library at Dartmouth College. Rauner Library is located in Webster Hall. The materials must be used on-site and may not leave Rauner Library.

Introduction to the Collection

The papers of Charles G. Billo contain correspondence, photographs, award certificates and Selective Service documents chronicling Billos' appointment to the US Foreign Service and his service in Vietnam. Of note are photographs documenting the visit of South Vietnamese officials. An oral history interview with Billo, which is part of the Dartmouth Vietnam Project is also available.

Biography

Charles G. Billo received a B.A. from Brown University, and M.B.A. degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and an M.I.A. degree in International Affairs from Columbia. Billo was appointed to the US Foreign Service in 1968.
