Abstract: Letters from Crosby on a trip to Scotland, England and France with his son-in-law Edward H. Gilman. The trip was for medical research. (Thought to be school doctor at St. Paul's School at the time.)



Biography

Albert Harrison Crosby was born 23 April 1828, in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Dr. Crosby graduated from Dartmouth College in 1848. Following Dartmouth, Dr. Crosby attended Harvard Law School and the Dartmouth Medical School (Class of 1860). He was a prison physician in Concord, New Hampshire as well as connected to the St. Paul School as attending physician at the time of his death. Dr. Crosby died 5 September 1886.

Scope and Contents of Collection

The papers of Albert H. Crosby contain a series of letters written to his family while traveling in Europe for research. The letters are not in chronological order, and document Dr. Crosby's travels through Edinburgh, Dublin, London, Paris, and Glasgow.
