Freda Harold was a librarian at Dartmouth College, 1929-1956, and was head of the Bibliography Department. A specialist in Scandinavian languages, she had a deep interest in the early Norse discovery of `Vinland'. She occasionally served as researcher for Vilhjalmur Stefansson.
