Introduction to the Collection

The papers of Isaac Taylor consist of personal correspondence and papers, photographs of the McMurdo Sound region and the men of "Operation Deep Freeze," official Navy documents, reports, publications, ephemera, slides, photocopies of articles on Antarctica, clippings, a VHS tape, and an audio recording documenting the time Taylor served as Chief Medical Officer for the United States Navy base at McMurdo Sound, Antarctica where he did research on hypothermia. Of note are letters and drawings from his children, including his son, musician James Taylor.
