Introduction to the Collection

The papers of Warner Bentley contain correspondence, notes, photographs and sketches on the occasion of his retirement as the director of the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College in 1969, including letters from Theodor Geisel, John Huston, Budd Schulberg, Herbert Solow and Harry Ackerman. A Drama Festival Program, handwritten class notes, a typescript critique of the Dartmouth Theater Department, as well as reports on plans for the construction of theaters at Dartmouth College and Oberlin College and a pen and ink sketch by C.D. Gibson are also included.
