Introduction to the Collection

The Papers of Helen B. Martin contain personal correspondence and other related materials pertaining to her duty as secretary to several noted political individuals of prominence. Letters, memos, stenography books, and photographs are contained within the collection, as well as business cards and an engraved gavel.


Helen Bertha Martin was born July 13, 1912, in Goffstown, N.H. She served as secretary to individuals such as Norris Cotton, Sherman Adams (DC Class of 1920), and Wesley Powell.
